Lindsay Wright is an award-winning composer, renowned for her distinctive blend of contemporary classical instrumentation and traditional practices with electronics and experimental techniques. Currently splitting her time between the US and the UK, she is known for crafting original and emotive scores for film, television and games.
Lindsay’s credits including the ITV/BritBox’s drama miniseries Archie, based on the life of Cary Grant and starring Jason Isaacs and Harriet Walter, the five-part ITV drama series The Walk-In starring Stephen Graham and four-part documentary series The Man Who Played With Fire for Sky and Discovery. Lindsay also scored the BBC film The Whistleblowers: Inside the UN and the documentary film This Is Joan Collins, for which Lindsay scored with a jazz/big band palette. Lindsay’s score for the short film Mudlarks was nominated for Best Score at the British Short Film Awards.
Lindsay has built a strong creative partnership with composer and singer-songwriter Tawiah, with whom she co-created the acclaimed score for the BBC comedy-drama Black Ops. Their work was nominated for a RTS Award for Best Original Score. The duo has also collaborated on Without Sin (ITV), starring Vicky McClure, The Lovers (Sky Atlantic), and the six-part drama Domino Day (BBC).
In advertising, Lindsay’s music has been featured in high-profile campaigns for brands including Gousto, British Airways, Pampers, and Rightmove. Her work for HP’s Orchestra campaign earned multiple accolades, including Bronze at the Clio Awards, LIA Awards, and Creative Circle Awards, while also being a finalist at the Music + Sound Awards for Best Original Composition in Broadcast Advertising.
A graduate with a First-Class BMus (Hons) degree in Music Technology from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and an MA from the National Film and Television School, Lindsay began her career working alongside composers including Martin Phipps, Isobel Waller-Bridge and Ruth Barrett, writing additional music for Apple TV‘s ROAR; Stan Lee‘s Lucky Man; Sky Atlantic‘s The Tunnel and the feature drama The Aftermath. She was the music editor for season 3-4 of Netflix‘s flagship series The Crown, resulting in her first Primetime Emmy nomination. She was also the music editor for The Feed (Amazon), The Forgotten Battle (Netflix) and Angela Black (ITV), as well as arranging strings for NBC‘s Law & Order: Organized Crime.
