Uèle Lamore is known for her unique sound in contemporary music, blending a variety of styles and genres to create an instantly identifiable sound palette. The Franco-American composer, conductor and arranger has composed for film, conducted and written for orchestras, collaborated with groundbreaking musicians, and released her own solo work.
Uèle is a seasoned film music composer, having composed scores for the horror The Apology directed by Alison Locke, and earned critical acclaim for her work on Aïssa Maïga’s debut film Marcher Sur L’Eau (Above Water), for which she won Best Documentary Soundtrack at the 2022 CSDEM Awards. In 2022, Uèle scored the feature documentary Riposte Féministe, directed by Simon Depardon and Marie Perennès, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Uèle was back at Cannes in 2024 with the French comedy-horror film The Balconettes (Les Femmes au Balcon). Uèle’s film work also spans short and animated films, including Le Cycle De Jean and Tabelaze with director Benjamin Geffroy.
In TV, Uèle has scored the PBS/Banijay remake of Maigret produced by Playground Entertainment with Patrick Harbinson as Show Runner. The series is set for release in 2025.
In 2017, Uèle founded Orchestre Orage, France’s first groove orchestra, which specialises in collaborations and special creations with artists from non-classical backgrounds. Since 2019, she has been an associate conductor, orchestrator and arranger for the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO), where she has worked with artists such as Alfa Mist, Max Cooper, Etienne Daho, Silly Boy Blue, Moor Mother, Drum & Lace, and Yaël Naïm.
Uèle’s debut solo album, Loom, released in 2022, is a sonically ambitious record that melds elements of indie pop and alternative music to create what Uèle calls a "model of a symphonic poem." Featuring string performances from the LCO and guest vocals from Silly Boy Blue, Gracy Hopkins, and Cherise, Loom showcases Uèle's unique ability to blend genres. That same year, she also released a special collaborative EP with GRAMMY nominee Theo Crocker.
In 2024, Uèle arranged and co-composed Thylacine’s upcoming symphonic album. Her latest EP, Multiply, represents another step in her sonic journey, diving deeper into raw, energetic, and hypnotic tracks that define her sound, characterised by heavy synths, subtle melodies, driving rhythms, and diverse soundscapes.
